OVY Camp

In 2020, I led a community-based project at the Optimist Volunteers for Youth Camp in San Gregorio, CA. Working with camp staff, we designed three mosaic benches to be installed near the cabins. Campers then created and painted handmade clay tiles based on these themes. The project concluded with a workshop I facilitated at the Community Built Association Conference, where participants learned to construct ferrocement benches.

RYSE Youth Center

I taught a mosaic workshop at RYSE Youth Center in Richmond, CA, introducing members to mosaic techniques that they later incorporated into a painted mural project led by artist Alex Bowman.

Ruth Bancroft Garden

I co-collaborated with artist Donna Billick on two 4' x 20' mosaic murals for the Ruth Bancroft Garden in Walnut Creek, CA. Together, we led a three-day community workshop where hundreds of participants sculpted and painted tiles inspired by the garden’s diverse cacti.

Mosaic Benches

I led a community project at the Davis Senior Center to create a mosaic bench. Working with staff, I developed the design and facilitated a workshop where senior center members and their families sculpted and painted leaf and flower tiles. The finished bench is now permanently installed at the center’s entrance for all to enjoy.
